What we collect
- Email, when you sign up to be notified about ticket sales
- Name and mobile number, when you provide them in the Early Bird form
- Technical browsing data — IP address, browser identifier, approximate country and city, and how you reached us (campaign, search engine or referring link) — collected only if you accept analytics or marketing cookies
- Cookies strictly necessary for the site to work
The form at the top of the page asks for your email only. Name and phone number are always optional and only reach us if you type them.
What we use it for
- Letting you know when Early Bird tickets open, and sending news about Coala Festival Portugal 2027 (line-up, experiences, practical information)
- Sending WhatsApp messages, only if you expressly authorised it and provided your number
- Aggregated statistical analysis of site usage
- Promoting the festival on advertising platforms, as described below
Sharing with advertising platforms
To show you advertising for the festival and to measure our campaigns, we share with Meta Platforms (Facebook, Instagram, WhatsApp) and Google your email and, where applicable, your mobile number, always encrypted with a one-way function (SHA-256 hash) before leaving our systems. These platforms use that data to check whether you are already a user of theirs and, if so, to show you our ads or to build audiences with a profile similar to that of our subscribers.
This processing relies on your consent and can be stopped at any time: withdraw marketing-cookie consent in the settings panel, or write to geral@coalafestival.pt.
These companies are based in the United States, so data may be transferred outside the European Economic Area. Both have joined the EU-U.S. Data Privacy Framework and apply the standard contractual clauses approved by the European Commission as a safeguard for those transfers.
We do not sell your data, nor do we pass it to third parties for their own marketing.
Legal basis
Your explicit consent (Art. 6(1)(a) GDPR) for marketing communications and for sharing with advertising platforms. Strictly necessary cookies rely on our legitimate interest in keeping the site working.
Who processes data on our behalf
We use service providers who process data under our instructions, for site and database hosting and for email delivery. Email is sent from infrastructure located in the European Union.
Unsubscribing
Every email we send includes an unsubscribe link. One click is enough, no explanation needed, and you stop receiving our communications. You can also write to geral@coalafestival.pt. Withdrawing consent does not affect the lawfulness of processing carried out before that point.
Your rights
You may access, rectify, erase, restrict or object to the processing of your data, and request its portability, at any time. To exercise any of these rights, write to geral@coalafestival.pt. You also have the right to lodge a complaint with the Portuguese Data Protection Authority (CNPD).
We do not make automated decisions producing legal effects concerning you.
How long we keep it
We keep contact data for 24 months after your last interaction with us (opening an email, visiting the site or buying a ticket), after which it is deleted. If you unsubscribe or ask for removal, data is deleted before that period — we keep only the minimum record needed to ensure you are not contacted again. Cookies: up to 12 months, with periodic renewal of consent.
Minimum age
This site and its forms are not intended for children under 13. We do not knowingly collect data from children below that age; if it happens, the data is deleted as soon as we become aware.
